Tony,

I should have also commented that if the number of spoolfiles in a delete
pending status has fallen, that's a good thing. Perhaps you had hundreds
or thousands of spoolfiles qualified in your spoolf delete command so the
917 is just catching up.

Regards,

Reid E. Baxter

Hi Donna, Gary,

I have been doing a bit more digging:

This is the catalog command we used ( not purge as earlier believed )

DELPSLIST
SPOOLF O@;SELEQ=[FILEDES=PSLIST];DELETE;SHOW

Extract from DELPSLIST output
#O631754 PSLIST 8 1 LP DELPND
MANAGER.SYS
#O631967 PSLIST 8 1 LP DELPND
MANAGER.SYS
#O632156 PSLIST 8 1 LP DELPND
MANAGER.SYS
#O632157 PSLIST 8 1 LP DELPND
MANAGER.SYS
One curiousity: This is the end of LISTSPF. The DELPND number has
reduced to 187.

INPUT SPOOL FILES OUTPUT SPOOL FILES

welcome!

what device are these print files spooled to? if it's, for example,
'lp' or '6' -- do a showdev for that device.

that is: showdev lp (replace lp with what's correct for you)
