Subject: RE: Terminal Communications

We have used a serial line extender from Bravo Communications an pushed
RS-232 past 1,000 feet with no problems (other than lightning damage). The
boxes are about $44 each and have RJ-45's as well as DB-25's. We have had
problems with the DTC16iX's flagging the ports as bad when we use the level
5 UTP wire for serial RS-232. As long as we don't have a powerfail,
otherwise we have to unplug the wires from the ports when the DTC re-boots.
