The "short mapped" and "long mapped" options are used with the HPFOPEN
intrinsic. Normally TurboIMAGE databases are opened by calling DBOPEN but
several utility tools access TurboIMAGE by using the standard file system
intrinsics (with PM) to bypass regular IMAGE intrinsics. Tools that do
this are the database utilities (Adager, DBGenrl, and Flexibase) as well as
SuprTool and the various backup products. Not all of these utilities will
necessarily use "mapped" access.

Hope this helps!
