While our products try to run on as wide a range of systems as
possible (in some cases, back to MPE XL 1.1), I understand
with Duane's point. In CI scripts, in particular, we're unlikely
to try to use anything that isn't on 6.5 or later.

The actual 7.5 CI program (ci.pub.sys) is quite likely to run on
6.5 (or 6.0) ... but that wouldn't help much. The functionality of
user-defined functions is embedded in the NL.PUB.SYS routines that CI.PUB.SYS
calls (and that the COMMAND and HPCICOMMAND intrinsics call).

Duane...how many of your 6.5 customers would go to 7.5 if:

   - 7.5 would run on a 9x7 (and other pre-9x8 models)?
(still assuming that it doesn't support HP-IB)

   - 7.5 was available at a low-cost (or no-cost) upgrade
(even for customers not on support)?

Seems like two good questions for HPWorld :)
