UTC's Teacher Preparation Academy and Hamilton County Schools are again
sponsoring substitute teacher training seminars this semester. There will be a
choice of two sessions: Thursday, September 25 from 5-8pm or Monday,
September 29 from 5-8pm. Both seminars will be held at nearby Brown
Academy, 718 East 8th Street . Parking is available near the school. Report
to the school cafeteria.
The sessions are fun, fast-paced, and taught by Hamilton County veteran
teachers. Light refreshments will be served and there will be handouts and
door prizes for participants.
Attendance at either seminar will enable the participant to substitute in
any Hamilton County School (after completion of the application process).
Substitute pay ranges from $42.50 to $53.00/day. Area schools always need
subs. Individuals may pick the days of the week and the schools and grades
levels in which they wish to work.
The training sessions are free and open to the public. Anyone interested in
teaching or thinking about teaching ought to consider attending one of the
seminars. Substitute teaching is a great flexible, part-time job too. To
make sure that we have enough food and materials, please make a reservation.
