GUI on RedHat? Again, wrong distro, Typically RedHat is geared toward
being a server, and therefore not usually fitted with a Tux (a GUI).
RedHat is a work horse, you could (may look silly) install a GUI on it
if you like, look at the 'yum' command, gnome, kde, and X11 packages.

However, as servers go, you usually wear your own (GUI) as a client
connected to the server.
On your windows client you could use software such as WinScp,
Programmer Studio, and so on.
Run some kind of webmin on the server and access admin functions via
HTTP browser.
You could also install Samba on RedHat, see 'yum'.

I have too much respect for you, and all of the HP3000 community to
continue the bantering, so lets just chalk this up to, "There ought to
be a 12 step program for our condition", and leave it at that.

Curious about a couple of things though,

If you migrated HP3000 COBOL applications to RedHat, why Oracle instead
of Eloquence?
What COBOL compiler on RedHat?
And What about V/Plus and other MPE intrinsic functions?

Would you prefer to run your COBOL applications on Windows?

Cheers,
Mike.
