All the Supreme Court and the Republican leadership did was to not allow an actual vote count. Any so called study afterward is at best questionable, and down right laughable.

Wrong. The news media buried the story, but a study they commissioned showed
that a full recount would not have changed the result, nor would a recount
in just the counties Gore wanted recounted (on the basis that they were the
ones going his way).

All the US Supreme Court did was reverse the Florida Supreme Court's attempt
to award the election to Gore in violation of Florida and Federal law.
