is using the compress=high going to shave time off full backups?

My guess is it depends on the system. That said, I have a low end
500-100-140 and am using compress=low and my system has 3gb memory and I am
using DDS3

one of my clients has a DLT4 or 7, not sure and is running an
N-Class-100-750 and the compress=high shaved 20 % off the back up
time...when changing it from LOW

Does this sound correct?

I am guessing that it depends on cpu size and the amount of memory to come
up with the best compress option..

Thanks,

Joe
