Hi HP3000-L,

Since leaving Robelle in January of this year, Karalee and I have decided to
take a year long adventure. We have just sold our sailboat here in
Vancouver, BC, Canada. We are in the process of purchasing a new sailboat
in France which we will be launching in the Mediterranean. We are taking
our three young children (ages 11, 9, and 5) out of school and going for a
year long adventure cursing the Med. while home schooling the kids.

A sailboat, especially one that you are going to live on for a year, is not
unlike an HP e3000. It has to integrate a large variety of systems while
providing rock solid reliability. It has already been a challenge to
research boat and computer systems and how they can be integrated. To say
nothing of how we will stay connected to the Internet while floating on the
water. To learn more about our adventure, visit our Web site at:

I've known many HP3000-L readers and contributors for many years. A lot of
you have indicated interest in our adventure. Rather than clutter up
HP3000-L with messages about our trip, we have created our own e-mail list.
You can subscribe to this list by visiting:

We'll look forward to visiting with all of you once we return. But in the
meantime, we'll let you know all of the exciting things that we see and
learn during out time away.

Cheers,

/djg
