I've not tried this, but it should probably work (I'll add it
to my list of things to attempt :).
Install Samba/iX (available at ftp://www.3k.com/POSIX/samba.htm )
and create a share that maps to the location of your CSV files.
You should then be able to connect to that share and access those
files as if they were local to your PC. If they are currently
fixed length files, they will be turned into bytestream when saved
back out by Excel, and you also "could" have some problems initially
accessing all of the data. To be safe, you should probably 'tobyte'
the files ahead of time.
