Thanks to everyone for their input. I've got some good help. What I'm trying
to do is turn echo off so a file password can be entered. I set 2 variables
_off = chr(27)+';'  and _on = chr(27)+':'

I created an input statement: input px,'Enter file password !_off '

I thought this would turn echo off but it doesn't. I need to turn echo off,
allow the user to enter the password and then turn echo back on.
What am I missing/doing wrong here.

Thanks,

btw, Wirt thanks for the table....but the esc; and esc: weren't listed in your
table. The other escape codes will come in handy in the future.
