Wirt clears up what was obviously a misunderstanding on
my part; i.e.:

Ah... of course (<slap_forehead>)... Somehow I was
thinking we would have to allow externally initiated
inbound TELNET... Yes: TELNET to above IP from my PC
works just fine; and I can do a LISTF,2 on that 3000
and get the data back... So Wirt is correct...

Yes; to the detriment of shop productivity in some cases..

As long as I can TELNET in to the remote machine from my
PC and other PCs at our site (which as per above clearly
works), that would be my preferred method too...
