Mike, Did you perform a START NORECOVERY following the restore of all
your files? If not, this should solve your problem.

Help! I've lost my Network Services Subsystem.

Here is a quick run down of dates and events:

November 95
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------
Upgraded to MPEiX 5.0 using SUBSYS tape and Powerpatch Express 3
At that time our CE made changes using NMMGR and created some UDC's for me
so I could start the Network Services. After the upgrade everything seem to
run fine. Network Services were in place although we were not using them

Late January 96
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------
Predictive software is reporting non-fatal disc mechanism errors on a daily
basis

Early February 96
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------
HP calls and explains that we shoudl replace the mech as soon as practical.

Saturday, February 10, 1996
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------
* Performed a Full System Backup
* Created an SLT
* Took the system down for replacement of the disc mechanism
* Rebooted system using SLT and performed the Install
* Recreated and initialized Volume info using Volutil
* Restored all files from the Full System Backup

Here's the rub: When I type :NSSTART I get a messager something to the effect
of :

Network Subsytem not installed on this system

What did I do wrong? Where did it go? What's the easiest way to get it back?
