Richard ..... You just don't get it. We've achieved empire status and
can do whatever we want.

We can develop & have WMDs and can research and develop mini nuclear
weapons. We can bomb and attack other countries solely on the suspicion
that they have WMDs and/or are doing other things which we deem
potentially dangerous to our security (at least that's what we say is
our justification). Others are not allowed these same privileges.

It's that simple.
