I'm afraid I don't know much about Porter Goss, so I don't know whether
he would make a good Director of Central Intelligence. This snippet
from the interview does nothing to illuminate that question, however.
Lacking Arabic language skills and computer skills is probably an
important consideration if you are hiring an agent or an analyst; for
the director, those skills are unimportant. Of course, I understand the
Michaels (Baier and Moore) try to find fault with anyone/anything
Republican. Better luck next time.

Denys,

here's an interview that Michael Moore did with the designated new
CIA-Boss
Porter Goss in March 2004.

Moore interview exposes CIA nominee
Porter Goss, the man chosen to head the CIA, believes he is unqualified
to
work for the agency, according to an interview he gave in March to
filmmaker Michael Moore's for him Bush-bashing polemic Fahrenheit 9/11.

The interview never made the documentary's final cut, but following the
65-
year-old Republican's nomination to the top US spy post, Moore has
released
the relevant footage and a transcript.

"I couldn't get a job with CIA today, I am not qualified," Mr Goss says
in
the interview.

"I don't have the language skills. My language skills were romance
languages and stuff. We're looking for Arabists today. I don't have the
cultural background, probably.

"And I certainly don't have the technical skills, as my children remind
me
every day, 'Dad you got to get better on your computer'.

"So the things that you need to have, I don't have," he said.

The transcript and video excerpt were posted on the film maker's web
site.

The interview comes ahead of Mr Goss's confirmation in the US Senate,
which
is expected to be a rough ride.

Republicans have called for a speedy nomination process, hoping to see
Mr
Goss officially installed by early September.

Mr Goss, who has officially resigned as chairman of the powerful House
of
Representatives intelligence committee, was an American spy in Latin
America in the 1960s, during one of the hottest periods of the Cold War
