Thank you. It was a labor of love. Judging by the amount of personal
mail I received so far, many people agree with you. :)

I was going to debunk another prolific poster of OT venom and
falsehoods, but I got tired and went to bed instead.

I have, for a long time, refused to answer this person. His English is
bad, just like his attitude. He calls himself a friend of the truth,
but with friends like this, who needs propaganda? :)

Yesterday he posted the following:

Popular conservative television news anchor Bill O'Reilly, usually an
outspoken Bush loyalist, said on Tuesday he was now skeptical about the
Bush administration and apologized to viewers for supporting prewar
claims that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

"I was wrong. I am not pleased about it at all and I think all Americans
should be concerned about this," O'Reilly said in an interview with
ABC's "Good Morning America."

Actually, he didn't write this (because I can read understand it,) he
simply lifted it from some place, and passed it on, falsehoods and all,
as his own.

Just the first sentence has 4 errors in it.

Bill O'Reilly is NOT popular, his viewership may be high by cable
standards, but it is very small in the grand scheme of things.

Bill O'Reilly is NOT a conservative. He denies that he is and I believe
him. I read his book and his views are that of a populist, whatever
seems to be the prevailing opinion at the time. Whilst he make
sometimes err into the conservative side, that is definitely not where
his heart is. His comments are aimed at generating controversy, that's
how he makes his money.

Bill O'Reilly is NOT a news anchor. Mr. O'Reilly is a radio talk show
host and a television commentator. He does not report the news. The
difference between "talk show host" and "news anchor" seems to elude the
left. Here is a hint for you. If the talking head on TV is giving you
an opinion or is debating with other talking heads, that is not News,
that is Opinion. Many people, myself included, also think Dan Rather,
Peter Jennings and Tom Brokaw are NOT news anchors either, but that's
beside the point.

Bill O'Reilly is NOT a Bush loyalist. I urge you to read his book and
be more aware of some of his positions and statements over the years.
Now, I understand that history is not one of the strengths of the left,
except for their efforts to rewrite it. However, they should pay it
more attention.

Denys
