What does France do with the nuclear waste?

<snip>
We have not built a nuclear power plant in 30 years. In France, for
example, 80% of the electricity is nuclear generated.

Subject: Re: OT: Which is your favorite?

As far as alternative energy is concerned, I am all in favor, if it can
be
done without being driven by politics. <good luck>

When nuclear power is discussed, the fossil fuel companies mumble to the
republicans 'profits... campaign contributions... grumble grumble...'

The environmental movement turns to the democrats and says
'ENVIRONMENTAL CATASTROPHE' by reflex.

That pretty much ends the discussion.
