not sure if I remember it that way. AFAIR, this one changes the
behaviour of OUTSPTJ to send CR-LFs instead of a certain PCL
sequence (to advance vertical lines) but only for spoolfiles
using CCTLs of %2xx.

So yes, some PCL is removed, _if_ your spoolfile contains
CCTL %2xx.
