John,

You're exactly right. Their fear is that making it easier to stay on
MPE will cut into their migration business (hardware, software,
services). Although, I must say, we are no longer an "HP friendly"
shop, so I'm confident in saying HP wasn't going to get a dime from
any of our migration activities anyway.
