Hi all,

I know this is not the proper list for this question, but I am at a loss on
how to help my dad. He has gone through the normal HP support channels with
no success. Thanks for your indulgence and here is his question:

Regards,
Jeff Vance

My Vectra 486 -20 has an Intel 486SX-20 chip.

Is it possible to replace this chip with a faster Intel chip without making
any other changes, except software?

If so, what speed is available, and what is the Intel part & hp part
numbers, and approx. price?

Any idea on where to get the part in the San Jose CA area?

Thanks for the assistance.

J.Vance
