Have the same problem. HP is aware of it and is working on new code for
the printer. You should be running Program File Version 2.07M Part No.
355938. This is found on the Config printout.

The Ethernet version should be Ver=1.0.9 MOS=1.0.1

Basically, do not EVER press FF or LF while a print job is in progress.
This messes up the spoolers ability to know what page it is currently
printing.

We were having a lot of hangs at the first of last week and seem to have
solved the problem by plugging the printer's ethernet connection into a
switch. After talking to HP and the manufacturer of the printer
(Printronix, in Irvine, CA) we think that some packets/frames of data
may be getting lost between the HP and the printer during times of high
network activity. Since plugging the printer into the switch, we have
been one week without any hangs.

For more information, email me with a phone number and I will be glad to
talk further about this.
