These are the moments that are made for Depends... ;-)

Wasn't there a contributed library or telesup utility called CHKTAPE? I
started using that AFTER a reload couldn't restore some files - fortunately,
they were files I had on other backup tapes.

Speaking of reloads, do you recall what happens if you forgot to place your
tape drive online when you started your reload? (At least on MPE 5/e?)
