Also, what kind of SCSI enclosure are you using for the 9GB drive?  And keep
the SCSI cable as short as possible.

Yes. The system boots exactly the same as before - fully functional.

We'll check that out. There is a SCSI terminator on the enclosure (and we
switched the cable and terminator for the heck of it too...)

I'm sorry. That was a type on my part. The path is indeed 56/42.4 and the
device is 56/52.4.0.

We'll check for a terminator on the drive itself as well as running mapper
without the drive attached some time this weekend.
