The nasty truth is that greedy employment law lawyers need to discover
this scam.  A few lawsuits against big corporations engaging in this
manner of 'hiring' alleging various forms of employment discrimination
(such as 'anti-American') just might cause a few corporations to think
twice before doing such sham hiring.

Never thought that I'd be rooting for the 'greedy lawyers'!

I'll forward your suggestion to the law firm of Dowe, Cheat'em and
Howe. They should be very interested in a class action case. I've heard
they have one partner that once billed 336 hours in one week (hint: his
MBU (minimum billable unit) was 30 minutes). </jest off>

Having processed attorney time/client expense billing services for 3.5
years, I've seen more than one attorney bill more hours in a week than
actually exist. They like to make their copiers profit centers too, at
anything from $0.50 to $1.00 per page.
