I already "know" MCP. Of course for me that is the Burroughs operating
system from
the 70's that I worked on!!
And talk about "crippled" systems. My first computer job was at St. Cloud
Hospital, where
they had a B2500. Now most knowledgeable folks will tell you that model
number doesn't
exist. But what we had was a B2700 with an extra chip in it (that's what
our engineer said)
that made it run slower, so that's why it was called a 2500 instead of the
2700.
And of course I also remember this as the job where the CE come out once
per week
and spent about 4 hours doing PM's. Usually working on the tape drive and
the printer.
We had a system with 64K of memory and a hard drive of 20MB that was
slightly bigger
than a desk.
Ah, those were the days. The only thing I don't miss is the punch cards!!
I'm not giving up my Qedit!
