I don't know if John Kerry WILL handle things better. But, I've seen how
our current administration is handling things, and I can't say I want to see
it continue.

Well, I can't say that John Kerry would be my first choice. Or even my 100th
choice--but Mr. Bush and his current crew rank well below 290Millionth
choice.

Mr Gates -

I disagree with you on these points.

I am not sure 'W' handled the truth recklessly. I think most government
agencies are broken and do not do the job they were intended to do very
well. I did not think the CIA was this far afield, but apparently it is.

I think something had to be done about Iraq. I am not sure what the USA did
was the right thing, but it was not the same old stumbling along stuff when
was done for the previous 10 years or so. There is some positive fallout
which came from it which offsets somewhat the casualties and the other
difficulties. If we capitalize on this positive fallout, good, but I do not
see 'W' doing this very much and I don't have much hope that JK will either.

As far as your TWO hopes, I don't seemuch in the way of hopes at all.

What I see on this list is a lot of people who think anythign other than
100% Pro-Kerry is somehow--reprehensible, immoral, ungrateful, sinful,
dishonest, unpatriotic, un-American, etc etc.

My question is, if you think Bush is handling things poorly, how do you
think Kerry will be any better?
