I am looking at a batch job, which took 26 minutes of cpu time, but took 106 minutes to complete. I understand the system is busy doing housekeeping and servicing users. Now most of my (2) DTC-48 boxes are have no serial cable going to them. I could fit all the users on 1 DTC. Would that imply that I would save a whole lot of CPU idling time scanning the other 48 serials ports to see if anybody is out there connecting? Or is it irrelevant, because each DTC has its own processor.

Thank for your feedback.
