This file is created and controlled by Masterop (a job scheduling
product). The file's creation/existence in my job was a surprise to me
in the first place, furthermore, the file's name (has numbers in the
file name)is incremented via Masterop, so one would never know what the
name of the file that Masterop created was in order to do anything with
it.

The program that was running never did abort, rather, the STDLIST got
really large from all of the tombstones created from the Masterop file
repeatedly filling up.

Nonetheless, I agree with your suggestion overall, and thanks.

p.s. if you use Declaratives you can gracefully control file system
aborts.

Yup, the file filled up, but what I wanted to know is what the foption
of 'FEQ' was. Someone told me it meant File Eq's are allowed for the
file - makes sense.

Thanks for the reply.

Ray:

Looks like a variable length record file which maxed out?

Brian.
