No matter what HP says, there's no way to know that they won't do the same thing
to the 9000 that they did to the 3000. My advice is to stay on the 3000 as long
as possible; but if migration becomes necessary, then run far, run fast, away
from HP. I've been advocating for months that the correct choice for *any*
purchase is "anything but HP."

Subject: [HP3000-L] Next HP Webcast

Date: 1/23/2002
Topic: Transition Considerations: First Steps
Note: this webcast has already been delivered.

It will be interesting how HP dances around this topic:

* Now that HP has announced that it will
discontinue MPE/iX, how do I know they
won't do the same thing to HP-UX? Once
I've decided on a strategic direction, how
do I choose the best destination platform?
