Hello Paul,

Typically it is the port that hangs, not the modem. CONSOLAN (in SYSDIAG)
will sometimes be successful when attempting to reset the port. A quick
workaround is to use ctrl-b to enable remote console (ctrl-B CM> ER)-- if
the modem's TR light goes on again, then it is likely the other half of the
MFIO (the session port) is hung, and either CONSOLAN or a shudown (and
power-off) of the 3000 is required to reset it.

The remote access port is not as robust as a DTC modem port-- if possible,
use a DTC port because it is a much more reliable connection.

Hope that helps.
