Hi Joseph :)
See my earlier post and the replies to it in the Archives... but the
short of it is....
     1. Stop the processes (ssd command in cstm)
     2. Wait 10+ minutes (tho' someone did say that 3 or 4 will do the job)
     3. Restart the proecesses (ssu command in cstm)

     4. Call for the patch TSMGD08 (This is a beta but will allow you to run
TermDSM as a stand alone process)

Subject: [HP3000-L] cstm issue

This may not be unusual, however I am still waiting for my prompt to return.

Background
I just updated a 928rx from 5.5 pp7 to 6.5 pp2 prior to finishing the update
on step 6.9 "backing up your system"
tells you to stop running STM by issuing >stmshutdown while in the cstm
subsystem.
This step was performed and a full backup was completed. The problem is once
I came up and entered the cstm
subsystem I get the following message and it is still hanging.

:cstm
Running command file (/usr/sbin/stm/ui/config/.stmrc

This operation may take appromimately one minute.
Waiting to obtain host information from the local host
NAME.DOMAIN.ORGANIZATION.
"This is not really the name, however"
The diagnostic daemon "diagmon" may have been started recently and is busy
building the device map.

If this message persists for a long time, It is possible that either the
diagnostic daemon is not running or that the network is improperly
configured.

If you cancel this message, the User Interface (UI) will not automatically
connect to a Unit Under Test (UUT). It will necessary
to use the Select Current System command in the System menu to attach the UI
to a UUT.

I have waited for over 20 minutes and then aborted the process. I checked
the network with netcontrol status and nscontrol status
and all seems well.

Does anybody have any insite as to what else I should be looking for?

I also tried MSTM as well and got the same message

Your help is much appreciated

Joe Dolliver
