Patch MPELX37A fixes many serious tar problems.  It's hard to tell the exact
cause of the problem you quote, but at least some of the several causes of tar
system call errors have been fixed by MPELX37A.

This patch is still beta, which means you'll have to ask the HP Response Center
to send it to you.
