<<We have a 9000 K220 with a F/W SCSI connector on the back...bigger than
the mini connector on the back of a 9x7 or 9x8.

This may sound dumb, but my recollection of the pinout/signals on the F/W
SCSI connector is vague enough that I need to ask:

Is there any way to connect an ordinary external SCSI DDS (or disk)
drive into this sucessfully? (the drive(s) have the "usual" large SCSI
connector, and are currently plugged into a 968)>>

If it's a single-ended wide SCSI output (which I would assume to be the
case; as far as I've seen, HP doesn't "do" differential SCSI on any of
its boxes), you can buy an adapter that converts the 68-pin wide SCSI to
50-pin 8-bit SCSI, and connect a stock cable to go to the Centronics-50
device.
