Citrix pioneered multi-user NT systems with their Winframe product a few years back. As others have mentioned, it allows Windows NT to host multiple independent user sessions, just like MPE and UNIX lets you do. Unfortunately, it's kind of kludgy and there are lots of problems with teaching NT to do those kind of things. Lots of software vendors who support NT wouldn't support Winframe, or nowadays Microsoft Terminal Server. > >Citrix was running NT 3.51 and MS copied Idea and make new Terminal = >server >(Memory leaker) and it is gonna be embedded Window 2000 Terminal server >Lite(?) and Ms will embedded with this terminal server technology with >128 bit encryption(?) to their new browser.=20 Actually Microsoft *bought* this technology from Citrix. Now Citrix makes add-ons for Terminal Server to let non-Windows clients connect to the server, and additional things like load balancing (Terminal Server "farms"), and fancy application publishing through the Web. Anyway, it's good stuff if you have the need. I use it to provide PC applications to my UNIX CAD users without having to buy each one a PC. So far it's worked very well for that purpose.
