On thinking about it, since the HP3000 and HP9000 are in effect the
same hardware, why can't HP market the "machine" with a choice of
operating systems suited to different markets.. including Linux?

Mind you, most people would plump for HP-UX or Linux "because it's
Unix" but then again, MPE/iX is far more open n'est pas?
