This is a very appropriately timed discussion. We have a client who attempted to set up a disk (LDEV 12) in the MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET volume with a class of COPY instead of DISC. His plan was that the system would not automatically write to LDEV 12 but only certain programs would write to write to LDEV 12. Okay, before you ask... Yes, this is possible using VOLUTIL and SYSGEN. Yes, he does want it be part of the SYSTEM volume. Apparently something went wrong and the system is automatically writing to LDEV 12. Everything seems okay in SYSGEN, the problem seems to be in volutil. It seems that for some reason or another the class of 'COPY' was not set up correctly in volutil. Volutil still thinks that the class of LDEV 12 is 'DISC' not COPY. Short of a reload of the system volumeset, is there anyway to change the 'class' of this disk to 'COPY' and not 'DISC' Thank you in advance, --------------------------------------------------------------------- Barry Durand "These are my opinions.
