Hi, we implemented an EMC˛ SRDF configuration between a source HP3000 and a target HP3000 series 979. The 979 target is daily working with HP disks (Emc˛ disks in Readonly mode). In case of backup, we reboot it on Emc˛ disks (not seeing HP disks: FW-SCSI cards are not defined in SYSGEN when using that config group). We recently read in an EMC˛ document that in case of backup (using Emc˛ disks), we should have to disconnect the SCSI link of the HP internal disks and unplug them. That seems to be crazy in case of emergency ! On the other hand, we rebooted the 979 system many times using Emc˛ disks only without any trouble. Does anybody use such a configuration ? Can someone validate that information which was never provided to us by Emc˛ neither HP until today ? If any, is that restriction to be applied to all 9x9 series or only for 959/969 series ? Thanks to all for helping us on that subject. JM. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
