UTC FOOTBALL PLAYERS TO VISIT 30TH AREA SCHOOL AS PART OF SPRING
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The Chattanooga football team will visit its 30th
area school
Friday as part of its spring volunteer program when they speak to children
at The Bright School in
Chattanooga.
Members of the squad will take a break from final exams at UTC to spend
time with the
school-age children. The purpose of the volunteer program is for the Mocs
to speak to the
youngsters on the importance of education, staying alcohol and drug free
and the need for a great
attitude.
“I am proud of my team and our coaches that have been involved this spring
semester in
our volunteer program with the area school systems,” UTC head coach Buddy
Green said. “More
and more of our players get involved every year, and I am pleased with the
amount that have been
interested in the program this spring.
“It has been a rewarding experience for us, and we hope that the
experience has helped the
children that we have visited as well.”
Friday’s trip to The Bright School concludes the sixth year of Green’s
volunteer program.
