Infinium has acquired Cort. You can read about it at: http://www.infinium.com/html/cort.html. As to the future of the HP3000 version of the Cort Payroll, Infinium does not plan to make it Y2K compliant. I've been a Cort customer since 1986 (paid $1,200 for the 1st copy) and have already ordered the Windows version which currently runs on Btrieve. We will be running it on a dedicated, clustered Windows NT server setup which will probably not come close to the speed and reliability that I've experienced on the HP3000 for the past 12 years. Cort Payroll is/was a very fine HP3000 product - I hate to see it go but I was told by someone at Cort that they haven't sold a copy of the payroll on the HP3000 since 1996. In typical Cort fashion, the Windows version was built for "heads down", efficient payroll. The user interface lacked polish when I tried it but Infinium plans to redo the interface and add MS SQL Server support. I'm hoping a combination of Cort's proven quality and a good user interface will make for another fine payroll system. I'm very surprised that you were not contacted about the upgrade. Someone at Infinium has obviously dropped the ball. -- Brad Feazell Therm-O-Link wrote in message ... Does anyone know what happened? Did Infinium acquire Cort? Or just the HP3000 software? Does Infinium plan on continuing the package on the HP3000?
