Remember moving just one dataset from an entire database is a real case of a ruthless juggler of reality. The balls fall on this one though. Don't try it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Larry Simonsen Phone: 801-489-2450 Flowserve Corporation Fax: 801-491-1750 PO Box 2200 http://www.flowserve.com Springville, UT 84663 e-mail: [log in to unmask] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -----Original Message----- From: [log in to unmask] [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Tuesday, December 15, 1998 10:42 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Quick Replace of TurboImage dataset We have a test box and a production box. We run processes on the test box to offload them from the production box. A particular process requires 13-14 hours on the production box to populate an 8-million record TurboImage dataset. The same job on the test box requires about the same amount of time. The benefit of running on the test box is that cpu processing time is not being consumed on the production box. If one was to back up the datafile (Image master and detail files) on the test box, is it safe to restore that file onto the production box? I don't know enough about how image databases and image root files work to say if this will cause problems. Your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
