<<The one clause I am having a major problem with is the one that
says I won't work for any competitor, or anyone that has any interest in any
competitor, or anyone with any ties with any competitor in any way for a
period of 2 years after ending employment with the company (and so far I
have not signed this contract because of this clause.)>>

Too long, and way too broad; have an attorney you trust review this
agreement ASAP. In most states, a non-compete agreement can't deprive you of
the opportunity to earn a living, and an agreement this broad in scope can
easily do so. Also, the typical non-compete period is six months to a year.
You'll actually be doing your company a favor; if they're going around
having a lot of people sign invalid non-compete agreements, they're building
up a tremendous litigation exposure.
