Seems to me that just for recovery purposes you would want to break
up 23 GB in smaller pieces.  Murphy would tell us that the chance
of something happening with the 22nd Gig is pretty high.

I also recollect from somewhere that a tape label is just a file at
the beginning of each tape.  Seems like dd or whatever you are
using on the 9000 can just skip that first file.
