Ah-ha! The Penpal Greetings virus hoax and two others as well. Looks very
much like the Good Times virus hoax. It is not possible to be hit by a
virus while reading an email using any current email software since the
contents of the email are treated as data by the software. Of course,
opening an attachment to an email is a very different story, especially if
you do not use McAfee or other anti-virus software.

If you would like to read more on the topic of virus myths try the Computer
Virus Myths home page on http://kumite.com/myths/and when you have
finished there you can check out the America OnLine Good Times Hoax FAQ on
http://users.aol.com/macfaq/goodtimes.html which gives both history and
typical impacts experienced.

Hope this prevents unnecessary worry.
Regards,
Peter
