For the "what goes around comes around" file: In an interview in Monday's Computerworld, Larry Ellison says that Oracle will eliminate the client/server versions of their applications software in the next release. Apparently they have discovered that the advantages of having the software and data together on a central server system are so great that they don't think any of their customers will want the client/server versions anymore. It can only be a matter of time until people [re-]discover the HP3000 and its super thin clients (terminals and/or terminal emulators)! :-) G.
