We recently brought up the APACHE server on our 3K for use as a
technical support intranet server. We also have a home grown Help
Desk (problem log) designed using Borland Paradox. The database
resides on a NetWare 4.11 server. We would like to bring the two
together in such a way as to allow our users to submit HTML forms
from the APACHE server to create the intial incident reports in the
problem log (Paradox) and likewise search and obtain status
information about previously entered problems.

This isn't an original idea. To give credit where credit is due - I
came across this idea in the November/December issue of "Computers in
Libraries". It comes from a Feature article by Michael Boeglin who is
a systems administrator for the Ann Arbor District Library. In his
article he describes a technique using Fastrack on a Win/95 machine
as the Web server, Microsoft Access as the back end database, and a
product called Cold Fusion by the Allaire Corp.
(http://www.allaire.com) "as the intermediary between our HTML forms
and our database".

Has anyone done anything similar to this with APACHE on the 3K? If
so, would you be willing to share your experience?

Thanks,
Steve Barrett
