John, Thanks for your answer! I am asking now my HP representative in order to see the costs involved. The main question: Did you notice preformance degradation due to the mirror? As you will know, the 937 is a little machine, and since it is our main production machine, we have to balance carefully the advantages/performance penalties. Thanks again, Andres ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Re: Mirror hard disks on a 937? Author: [log in to unmask] at CCGATE Date: 15/10/97 18:43 Hi Andres, We currently have multiple systems with mirrored disc, and it has worked well for use. You will need the mirroring software from HP (sorry dont know the cost, call your hp sales rep), and of course double of everything else. There are two main points for hardware, the mirrored discs MUST be exactly the same type and size drives as the originals and the mirrored drives should be on a seperate interface card. Any questions feel free to write John > We do have a 937 machine with three hard disks in one logical volume. > > Has anyone implemented a mirror (duplex, whatever) solution for > this setup, and if so, can you provide any hints in hardware and > software necesary, blueprint of the costs, etc? > > > We will appreciate very much any information in this issue, > > > Andres j.
