HP3000 and Network Gurus......

...off topic, but not.....

We have been a long time user of WRQ's RNS (3000 Connect), but due to $$$,
we are moving to Minisoft for new growth. I followed the thread last week
regarding Minisoft, but did not see this issue come up.

We also are just starting to implement DHCP (where IP addresses are
assigned dynamically). All of our machines are Windows 3.1 (not WFW). We
are *not* in a position to change our OS platform.

RNS 5.2 does DHCP quite nicely sending down the IP address and related
info as well as sending down the host & domain name. It works just fine,
thank you very much.

However, we are having some difficulty getting DHCP working with
Minisoft's stack. Also, Minisoft seems to be pointing us to use either a
16 bit stack from Novell (we use Novell 3.12 with IPX) or the Novell
"Client 32 for Dos & Windows."

What experience to folks have out there other than RNS? Is anyone using
the Minisoft (Multinet) stack? With DHCP?

Again, I only care about Windows 3.1 platform. However, your non-Windows
answer might help someone else out there on the list...

Thanks *very* much in Advance.
