We got a SA 614 yesterday while bringing down Netware/iX, on our 969/220 running MPE/iX 5.0 Powerpatch 6. The message on the console was: SYSTEM ABORT 614 FROM SUBSYSTEM 143 SYSTEM HALT 7, $0266 FLT DEAD B807 0102 0266 I performed a memory dump and the RC, after looking at the dump, indicated that the 'offending process' was NPSD.NETWARE and that the abort probably occurred because of some 'fork()ing' problem. They are sending patch 'MPEJXA7' to possible remedy the situation. Question: Has anyone else seen an SA614 and what was the remedy? On a note that *may be* somewhat related, we had a system hang about ten days ago during our backup. The backup job tried to bring down netware and then while it was building the list of files to include it got hung while traversing the /dev/ directory. Establishing a session and doing an 'ls -al' within that directory would cause the session to hang. I finally had to 'power cycle' the machine in order to clear it up. Again: Any similar experiences? Thanks Paul H. Christidis
