<<I should replace an old terminal emulation running under DOS. The
reason is, we want to upgrade to Windows NT.

The old terminal emulation is a Reflection 7 from WRQ, emulating a HP
2627A or HP 2623A graphics terminal.

From WRQ I got the message, there is no terminal emulation available for
these terminals, which runs under WIndows NT.

Is there another company offering terminal emulations for these HP
graphics terminals? What are these terminals, anyway? Is there a
compatibility to another terminal class? Are these terminal supported by
HP at all? How old is this terminal type?>>

The obvious question is "Do you have software that actually uses/requires
the graphic capabilities of these terminals?"

If so, you may have a problem; R7Plus is the only emulator I'm aware of
for these devices.

If not, you can use the Windows-hosted emulators. If you're not sure if
the applications use the graphic capabilities, try configuring the
emulator as a 2392A and see if there are any problems. If not, there are
lots of emulators that should work.

The other question is "Who told you that R7 won't work under NT?" As far
as I know, it works like a champ. Though only with a serial connection,
of course; the CONMGR, VTMGR and TELMGR pieces from the DOS product won't
work under NT, since they rely on DOS-specific drivers and protocol
stacks. Though you'd think that WRQ could, without a tremendous effort,
produce a DLL that would let at least Telnet work.
