For those who might care to do so, as moderator of the HP Database Roundtable at HP World - Anaheim I will now accept pre-submitted questions from readers of hp3000-L. I will accept pre-submitted roundtable questions via email right up until I leave for Anaheim on Sunday 4 August. HOWEVER: I plan to forward whatever questions I have in hand to the HP R&D Database Lab and other panelists by close of business Wed 31July, to give them some time to come up with good answers. I'm less and less a believer in "surprising" HP with roundtable questions of a technical nature; IMHO better to give panelists an opportunity to do some research before the session, rather than risk getting the "we'll get back to you" answer.... Pre-submitted questions received by me after COB Wed 31 July will still get to Anaheim, but may go in the hopper with other roundtable questions received on site. Also: Please note that this is for the ** HP ** Database Roundtable; i.e.: for Image/SQL and Allbase/SQL on the HP 3000 and the HP 9000. There will an additional separate "Database" Roundtable; i.e.: without the "HP" prefix, for other DBMS that run on HP platforms, and for database questions of a general nature. That separate roundtable will be moderated by Denys Beauchemin. The HP Database Roundtable is scheduled to take place on Thursday 8 August from 4:00 - 5:50 pm. To pre-submit questions for this roundtable via email, please do the following: (1) Make the subject exactly as follows: HP Database RT question (2) In the first part of the body, state your question or concern as briefly and concisely as possible. (3) After (2) above, include additional supporting information if you so desire (optional). (4) At the end, include at least your name. If you might want anyone to follow up with you later, better also add your email address, snail-mail address, and / or phone number. (5) Post your question to hp3000-L, so that the rest of the readership can see it and avoid duplication; and perhaps through discussion clarify and expand on some of the questions. ........... Although if for some reason you don't want to post your question to 3000-L, go ahead and send it directly to me at: [log in to unmask] Standing by for questions, Ken Sletten ===================================== email: [log in to unmask] smail: Ken Sletten NUWC Division Keyport Code 332, Building 894 Keyport, WA 98345-7610 tel: 360-396-2525 fax: 360-396-7861 / 2851 =====================================
